Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data idunno.ai (“idunno”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We try to collect as little as possible.

1. Who we are

idunno.ai is an independent service. You can reach us about any privacy matter at contact@idunno.ai.

2. What we collect

3. How we use it & our legal bases

We use the data above to:

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Saving ideas requires an account. When you save an idea, an anonymized copy may be added to our public Ideas pages so others can discover them. This is on by default; you can turn it off at any time in Settings (“Make my saved ideas public”) to keep future saves private. Published ideas are not tied to your name or email.

4. Third parties we share data with

We share personal data with third-party providers only as needed to run the service: providers that host the app and store your data, providers that generate suggestions and transcribe voice input (AI providers), and providers that enrich suggestions with things like ratings, trailers, and place lookups. These providers process data on our behalf.

Some of these providers process data on servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5. AI processing

The text — and, if you use voice, the audio — that you provide is sent to our AI providers to generate suggestions. Voice audio is transcribed in the moment and is not stored by us.

6. How long we keep it

Account data and saved content are kept until you delete them or close your account. Abuse-prevention counters reset automatically every day.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal data, and you can object to certain processing. You can delete individual saved ideas in the app, and you can permanently delete your whole account — along with your saved ideas and preferences — yourself from the Settings page. (Ideas you previously chose to publish are anonymized and remain.) You can also reach us at contact@idunno.ai for any of these requests. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Cookies & local storage

We use only functional cookies — to keep you signed in and to remember your chosen language. We also use your browser’s local storage to remember your preferences and any ideas you shelve before signing in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

9. Children

idunno is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
